Schizophrenic NIghtmares
#1
I don't feel like this issue gets nearly enough attention. They plague psychotic people so much that many fear going to sleep like a child that has watched a scary movie. The only difference is that the movie was played by your mind. Maybe at least awareness that this is a common problem will provide patients some relief. Not being alone is one of the most comforting feelings there is.

Who else has had psychotic nightmares?

This is definitely something I struggle with. I've had intense, vivid nightmares as long as I can remember. When they come in clusters I will sometimes do what I can to avoid sleep. The nightmares seem to bleed through to reality on my worst days. Honestly I related to the Nightmare on Elm Street movies for a long time because of my avoidance of sleep.
I keep a dream journal to record them - doesn't do much but it helps me feel like if I get them out they don't haunt me as long.

dunno if this counts but i have what i call sign dreams ,, typically of me getting so bad that i end up in the hospital again and all the trauma with it and i have sh dreams or dreams that i hear them talking to me in my sleep. and so like i am sleeping. but they say "WAKE UP" in my dreams but i hear it outside my dreams in real life and i jolt awake because its often followed by "HE IS COMING " or "HE IS GOING TO HURT YOU "  and itll happen till i wake up or if i try to back sleep it repeats so i end up staying awake to the point i am hallucinations more than normal and im having deeper cognitive issues.

I have this issue as well, I take Prazosin to help control my CPTSD and psychosis nightmares. It seems to work quite well but I'm sure my anti psychotic also works well to contain them. They where pretty distressing and I would either wake up very tired or wake up in the middle of the night and not be able to fall back asleep. I had recurring ones too, where the themes where the same and they where really spooky. Things like living in a simulation, falling out of a plane, being stranded at sea etc.
